An important part of any website redesign is the intial feedback from the business owner once the site is first viewed / put live and how quickly you can address the points raised, here is an example of a scenario where the website designer didnt listen to the client, took far too long to build the site and then correct obvious problems. didn’t test their own redesign and worst still didnt quickly fix the bugs once spotted.
[Website Client] I can see you have done some work on the home page. I like the video background and the front page slider moving photos, my feedback so far:
1. Gallery still needs more images added. Not many photos currently
2. Home slides need looking at. The blue overlay doesn’t work for me (maybe light grey??). I like the square effect you have overlaid. It’s not on all images though. Please add descriptions on the slides as well. I don’t like the first slide anymore. Please use another image that looks less colourful.
3. We have 2 addresses. Office and Workshop. Please add in workshop. It was on our site like that.
4. Please add our social links including our Twitter / Facebook links using their logos
5. The symbols for ‘our services’ aren’t really relevant for the service it’s next to. Please change all types of logo to be relevant to our services.
6. In the testimonials running along the bottom. In the circle can you add a sillhouete face of a man or a woman.
7. Wheres the blog page? We need this and had it on the old site
8. Service pages missing?
In general the overall look of the site I am loving it I think a massive improvement. We haven’t had any enquiries though yet since it got uploaded, why is that? I dont want a good looking site that doesnt give enquiries to us.
[Website Designers] Ok maybe we are just experiencing a slow period for enquires. There’s not many lightwell grille requests in Essex. It’s for London. that’s where 90% of the digs are happening. Anything that will improve SEO for lightwell grilles London that would be great. I’m gonna try blog about it,let me know when i need to look at the amends.
I’ve just checked and you are still at the top for your key search term so there’s no problem with the SEO on the site.
I have changed the email address on the contact form and am going to monitor it for a week, if anything comes through I will forward to you! I am also designing a new form for you today. I am going to try and get the site finished tonight!
[Website Client] Ok well with the last contact page it had a drop down menu selecting what service your was enquiring about and it was mainly always. Maybe we have just been quiet for a few weeks …. Just seems unusual not to have one email.
[Website Designers] Can you give me some of your main keywords so I can check the rankings? I’m not sure why you haven’t had any enquiries. I’d need to check out the traffic stats. Send over a keyword that you ranked well for so I can quickly check something.

I am still not loving the image used on the home slides for steel fabrication.
I have attached a PDF that i feel maybe one of those shots would work better and just use the image you have now in the gallery.
Symbols updating for welding, installation service, folding and sheering, currently not relevant
Need the business / office address added in, currently only the office showing but the map is pointing to the workshops.

When you click on page 2 of the gallery it shows a 404 page not found

It been going on from May!! You did say 2 weeks. I feel have been patient but I am getting nagged and moaned at all round so please please can we get get it finished by Friday? Let me know you have got this and all clear.
Website and email – I have contacted the website designer today and asked him to send me the email that was sent to you (not received it yet) to see if I can assist with any content or pictures. I told the website design company I would assist him in contacting the previous website hosting company to try and hurry along the upgrade to the emails. I am awaiting a call back from them, if I do not hear anything by midday tomorrow I will chase again.
I have attached the information for the control panel and login details, I have also sent an up to date spread sheet of all of the email addresses we currently have.
A lot of the passwords have been changed for the email addresses and I will forward on to you the emails I have received from the Web Design company with this info on. Some things have changed whilst I have been organising the migration to another email hosting package. If you have any issues with the information I have supplied please give me a call.
