Delighted to find a perfect candidate for our Webcopy Position within our Stanford-le-Hope Website Design office. My general reply notes are as follows (just to show how delighted we are at the initial standard shown by this candidate).
I didn’t finish reading this before deciding that you should do some work for me, so that’s excellent for me that I have found someone that is as good (and as ‘local’)as yourself so soon and hope you can manage a job almost instantly?
For your interest currently had 60 responses to the job advert for the copywriting postion.
One thing I would like to point out is the ‘Flesch Reading Ease Index’ this is a metric I use (and probably Google uses) to gauge the ‘readability’ of the text and generally a number of 60 and over is required / aimed for (but this can be challenging to achieve).
If you turn on readability statics in Word it shows you the score after you do a spelling / grammar check. Your article’s current score is 40. Generally to improve the score you need to have shorter sentences broken up with commas and non-technical / shorter / more concise words that don’t duplicate too often (you repeated the venue name 7 times which is a bit much for such a short article).
If you are happy with my comments and happy to start something I can give you a project as soon as the client gives me some guidance notes.
Overview of project

Its important for us to pay you what you think you deserve I have previously been paying a pre-arranged rate but think I would like to pay you more that the rate I was paying and will discuss this with you at the next interview. Will be happy to hear from you if projects are very challenging and need extra ‘research’ and take longer and will obviously pay you for this.
You will find us very flexible / open and easy going but we do like standards maintained and professionalism in every aspect of business and would be happy to have you doing regular work for Delicious Webdesign.
Initially there can be no guarantee how much work we offer / give you and cannot promise anything regular but 9/10 websites we do require webcopy and we are probably the biggest website company in Thurrock and have a regular flow of websites (over the last 5 years) with our new business rate increasing steadily year on year in that period.
We had 2 people previously write website content for us but recently one has started to let me down in terms of quality and timings so that’s why we need more help. It would totally suit me that you can work at evenings and weekends and normally you will have 1-2 weeks to produce website content so it would be rare that I would ask for it quickly.
Glad you emailed as we have had loads and loads of interest. We have previously asked others to do a small test for me to produce a sample article but if you have already done copywriting perhaps you don’t need to do this test but point me at some previous work you have done and let me see you can do what I need (although I am happy to take your word on this due to your experience)
