Want to work for one of the leading website design companies in Essex? Well all it takes is an email to James at Delicious Webdesign (as below) and you can come visit to talk about how we can potentially get you training to work as a website designer.
[Potential Website Trainee] I understand that you had a call from my father yesterday who is a friend of one of your previous developers at your previous company. He mentioned that you may be looking for a trainee web designer.
My aim is to join a company which will allow me to use my varied computer skills on a professional basis. Having always aspired to pursue a career in IT, I first decided to gain experience in a work based environment and have spent time in other areas which now lead me to resurrect my interest in moving into an IT field
I feel I have the ability to adapt to many varied working styles both in the field or as part of a team. Should any further learning be required I would be please to undertake any work based or external training needed.
Using my Computer and IT skills I have been running a small side business, earning a small additional income from PC building and repair service. I am literate in Microsoft products.
Some experience in basic web design, databases (MYSQL),Web hosting using different forms of PHP including PHP Nuke/ PHPBB forums and familiar with PHP Admin. I have a considerable knowledge of computers both hardware and software. I am knowledgeable in web design, databases (MYSQL), Web hosting
I have also managed my own dedicated server from home, including online dedicated game server management.
I am currently working in a high street bank and am considering looking to move into an IT based career. I Have quite a varied range of experience around IT generally and it could be that if we could arrange to meet then we may find that we could perhaps both benefit.
I realise that without the usual further IT qualifications I would possibly need to study or look for a trainee position and therefore this could work and also from your point of view I do come with quite a few skills that I am sure would be of use to you.
I am in a stable role which because of my working hours, means that initially I could be available on a part time basis whilst you train me up or also would be happy to consider full time if you needed it.
I would really like to meet you for a chat, please call me to arrange something or maybe I can catch up with you later in the afternoon tomorrow. I am usually home after 3.00 and would be happy to come over
[Website Design Company] Thanks for the email, yes we are always looking for trainee website designers but the situation here is that we are all currently self-employed and I own and run the company and distribute work / projects to the developer that agree to complete a project for a fee. If that is something you want to be considered for then great, you are in a similar position to how two of the guys started. The long term plan is to make the company a Limited company and employee the developers / designers.
To become ‘productive’ to begin with you need to be proficient in XHTML / CSS and have a good knowledge of some of the tools used commonly in website design like Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Knowledge of wordpress / joomla and ecommerce as well as Mysql / PHP is an advantage.
Unfortunately I don’t have the time / resources to train you but I will support you and guide you to what you need to do so that you can perhaps one day take on projects from ourselves. If you like what you hear then happy to meet up for a chat later next week.
