Do you ever wonder why you can’t see some emails on your phone but you can see it on your computer? Do you wonder why when you send an email from Outlook on your laptop you cant see that sent email on your phone? Then you are probably using POP email that is setup incorrectly, see the following exchange that demonstrates this and offers some solutions.
[Website Owner] Just a couple of things with our emails though – some of them are not storing / opening emails via the direct webmail method, for them it’s storing received ones but not sent ones. And for two others its storing sent ones, but not received ones. Could you have a look at this please? Thanks for all your help.
[Website Administrator] I think part of what you are saying is a generic problem / bugbear with email. If you always use webmail it will store the sent and received emails on the server and you can access them from anywhere
If you use an email client (outlook / windows live mail) you can have all your received and sent emails stored but its stored ‘locally’ meaning on their own machine (PC / Laptop) so if you send from an email client like Microsoft Outlook you dont see that sent email unless you go on that PC with that copy of Outlook. You can now have an online (Cloud) version of Outlook that you can access from any browser, this gives you Outlook functionality and you can use it from any computer with internet access, there is a cost for this service but it may be an idea to consider in the future.
The other point for two people that are not showing their received emails that’s almost certainly as they are receiving / looking at emails from multiple places and deleting them from once place and they have their email settings set-up in such a way that when they read an email its deleted from the server.
I am willing to check their settings (via teamviewer) if you can’t do it but in Outlook you need to tick the box in the ‘advanced’ settings that says ‘do not delete email from server’.
